Canon has just announced the powershot SX740 HS, the successor to the SX730 HS. Targeted at entry level photographers, canon is aiming this at people who want to take photos of their family, post on social media or want to start vlogging.
It has 40x optical zoom (24-960mm eq) on a 20.3 megapixel 1/2.3 inch sensor. The apperture is f/3.3 on the short end and f/6.9 on the long end. The camera has OIS with the digic 8 processor providing dual stabilisation.
The camera has a 3 inch TFT screen that flips 180 degrees for selfies and vlogging. Not only is it capable of shooting 4k video and timelapses, it also has a built in WiFi and bluetooth for better connectivity and photo transfer features.
The camera is also available in silver and is due to be on sale towards the end of august for $399.
