Canon 100D vs Canon 5DS Sensor Comparison
Generally, its difficult to picture the contrast between sensor measurements just by reviewing technical specs. The graphic here will provide you a better sense of the sensor dimensions in the 100D and 5DS.
As you can tell, both the cameras enjoy different resolutions and different sensor measurements. The 100D featuring a tinier sensor is going to make getting shallower DOF harder and the Canon 5DS will deliver more detail as a result of its extra 33 Megapixels. Greater resolution will also make it easier to crop images far more aggressively. The older 100D is going to be behind when it comes to sensor technology.
