Canon 5D vs Nikon D80 Overview
On this page, we will be looking at the Canon 5D and Nikon D80, both Advanced DSLR digital cameras by rivals Canon and Nikon. There is a large difference between the resolutions of the 5D (13MP) and D80 (10MP) and the 5D (Full frame) and D80 (APS-C) provide different sensor measurements.

In many cases, it's tough to picture the gap between sensor measurements purely by reading through specs. The photograph here might give you a far better sense of the sensor sizes in the 5D and D80.
As you can plainly see, both of the cameras have different megapixels and different sensor measurements. The 5D with its bigger sensor is going to make achieving shallow depth of field easier and the Canon 5D will give greater detail using its extra 3 Megapixels. Higher resolution can also make it easier to crop photographs a bit more aggressively. The older 5D is going to be disadvantaged when it comes to sensor innovation.
