Canon G1 X vs Canon G12 Overview
The following is a detailed assessment of the Canon G1 X and Canon G12, former is a Large Sensor Compact while the latter is a Small Sensor Compact and both of them are manufactured by Canon. There is a noticeable difference among the sensor resolutions of the G1 X (14MP) and G12 (10MP) and the G1 X (1.5") and G12 (1/1.7") boast different sensor measurements.

The G1 X was launched 15 months after the G12 which makes them a generation away from each other. Each of the cameras feature different body design with the Canon G1 X being a Large Sensor Compact camera and the Canon G12 being a Compact camera.
