Here is a comprehensive review of the Canon G12 versus Canon G7 X, former being a Small Sensor Compact while the other is a Large Sensor Compact and both of them are sold by Canon. There is a noticeable difference between the resolutions of the G12 (10MP) and G7 X (20MP) and the G12 (1/1.7") and G7 X (1") possess different sensor sizes.
