Following is a thorough assessment of the Canon G12 and Panasonic ZS7, former is a Small Sensor Compact while the other is a Small Sensor Superzoom by brands Canon and Panasonic. The sensor resolution of the G12 (10MP) and the ZS7 (12MP) is fairly close but the G12 (1/1.7") and ZS7 (1/2.3") provide totally different sensor sizes.
