Leica M9 vs Nikon P100 Sensor Comparison

Generally, its difficult to see the contrast in sensor sizes simply by viewing a spec sheet. The image here might provide you a better sense of the sensor sizing in the M9 and P100.

As you can see, the 2 cameras come with different megapixels and different sensor sizes. The M9 because of its bigger sensor will make shooting shallower depth of field simpler and the Leica M9 will provide you with greater detail having its extra 8 Megapixels. Higher resolution will enable you to crop photographs a good deal more aggressively. The more aged M9 will be disadvantaged in sensor tech.
