Nikon P340 vs Samsung TL100

Here, we will be reviewing the Nikon P340 and Samsung TL100, both Small Sensor Compact cameras by competitors Nikon and Samsung. The image resolution of the P340 (12MP) and the TL100 (12MP) is pretty comparable but the P340 (1/1.7") and TL100 (1/2.3") posses totally different sensor sizes.

The P340 was announced 5 years later than the TL100 and that is a fairly large difference as far as camera tech is concerned. Both of the cameras feature the same body design (Compact).

The Nikon P340 features external measurements of 103mm x 58mm x 32mm (4.1" x 2.3" x 1.3") accompanied by a weight of 194 grams (0.43 lbs) and the Samsung TL100 has specifications of 105mm x 61mm x 37mm (4.1" x 2.4" x 1.5") with a weight of 219 grams (0.48 lbs).

To sum up, both of these cameras come with the identical resolution albeit not the same sensor sizing. The P340 offers the bigger sensor which should make getting shallow DOF simpler. The younger P340 is going to have an edge with regard to sensor technology.
