Generally, its difficult to see the difference between sensor sizing merely by going over technical specs. The visual here may give you a clearer sense of the sensor sizing in the FS42 and TS5.
As you can tell, each of the cameras have different megapixels and different sensor sizing. The FS42 having a tinier sensor will make achieving shallower depth of field harder and the Panasonic TS5 will offer extra detail having an extra 6MP. Higher resolution can also make it easier to crop photographs a bit more aggressively. The older FS42 is going to be disadvantaged with regard to sensor tech.
