Pentax P80 vs Sony NEX-5

Its time to take a closer look at the Pentax P80 versus Sony NEX-5, former being a Small Sensor Compact while the other is a Entry-Level Mirrorless by competitors Pentax and Sony. The image resolution of the P80 (12MP) and the NEX-5 (14MP) is very comparable but the P80 (1/2.3") and NEX-5 (APS-C) feature different sensor size.

The P80 was unveiled 10 months prior to the NEX-5 so they are both of a similar age. Each of the cameras offer different body type with the Pentax P80 being a Compact camera and the Sony NEX-5 being a Rangefinder-style mirrorless camera.

The Pentax P80 features exterior dimensions of 102mm x 59mm x 25mm (4.0" x 2.3" x 1.0") along with a weight of 125 grams (0.28 lbs) whilst the Sony NEX-5 has proportions of 111mm x 59mm x 38mm (4.4" x 2.3" x 1.5") along with a weight of 287 grams (0.63 lbs).
