Ricoh CX6 vs Sony WX500

The CX6 was manufactured 4 years prior to the WX500 and that is quite a sizable difference as far as technology is concerned. Each of these cameras have the same body design (Compact).

For anybody who is intending to lug around your camera often, you'll need to factor in its weight and proportions. The Ricoh CX6 offers outside measurements of 104mm x 59mm x 29mm (4.1" x 2.3" x 1.1") with a weight of 201 grams (0.44 lbs) and the Sony WX500 has measurements of 102mm x 58mm x 36mm (4.0" x 2.3" x 1.4") and a weight of 236 grams (0.52 lbs).

As you can see, each of the cameras have the same sensor dimensions albeit not the same resolution. You can expect the Sony WX500 to give more detail due to its extra 8MP.
