Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 vs Sigma DP1 Merrill Overview
Its time to look a bit more in depth at the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 and Sigma DP1 Merrill, one being a Small Sensor Superzoom and the latter is a Large Sensor Compact by competitors Samsung and Sigma. The image resolution of the Galaxy Camera 2 (16MP) and the DP1 Merrill (15MP) is relatively close but the Galaxy Camera 2 (1/2.3") and DP1 Merrill (APS-C) come with totally different sensor dimensions.

The Galaxy Camera 2 was launched 24 months later than the DP1 Merrill which makes the cameras a generation apart from one another. Both of the cameras come with different body type with the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 being a Compact camera and the Sigma DP1 Merrill being a Large Sensor Compact camera.
