The following is a detailed comparison of the Samsung SL30 versus Sony A57, former is a Small Sensor Compact while the latter is a Entry-Level DSLR by competitors Samsung and Sony. There is a substantial difference among the image resolutions of the SL30 (10MP) and A57 (16MP) and the SL30 (1/2.3") and A57 (APS-C) have different sensor size.
