Its time to look a bit more in depth at the Samsung ST600 vs Sony A57, one being a Ultracompact and the latter is a Entry-Level DSLR by brands Samsung and Sony. The sensor resolution of the ST600 (14MP) and the A57 (16MP) is relatively close but the ST600 (1/2.3") and A57 (APS-C) offer different sensor size.
