Here is a in depth review of the Canon S100 versus Samsung ST30, former being a Small Sensor Compact while the other is a Ultracompact by manufacturers Canon and Samsung. The resolution of the S100 (12MP) and the ST30 (10MP) is fairly similar but the S100 (1/1.7") and ST30 (1/3") use totally different sensor measurements.
