The highest video resolution in the Canon G9 X is 1920 x 1080 and you can save in MPEG-4 and H.264 format. 1080p resolution is an excellent balance between quality and file size but FULL HD isn't going to leave you with any room to downsample. The body doesn't include a microphone and / or headphone jack so you get zero control over the sound. It is perhaps best to look at another camera in case you require better sound for your video clips.
