Panasonic TS30 Lens information
The TS30 includes a fixed lens offering a focal range of 25-100mm giving it a 4.0 x zoom which isn't amazing but it will definitely be handy in certain circumstances.
At it's widest 25mm, the lens features an aperture of f3.9 and that's rather sluggish and not very good for low light events and you might find it hard to get good bokeh. You will probably also have to increase your ISO setting which results in noisy images. At the long end, 100mm comes with f5.7 making it really sluggish and you might have to choose slower shutter speeds.
Panasonic TS30 Connectivity
The TS30 has the following connectivity:
- USB Yes
Cameras that contain NFC and / or Bluetooth support are able to be used wirelessly through smartphones. You can copy files and in some cases alter camera settings with no need to connect physically with the camera.
Certain apps also provide a Liveview and click the shutter whenever you aren't close to the camera. If the camera features a HDMI port, it can easily be attached to an external display. Virtually all cameras will allow you to charge the battery with the USB port.
Panasonic TS30 Video information
The maximum video resolution in the Panasonic TS30 is 1280 x 720 and you can record in MPEG-4 file format. 720p is low for today's standards. You really should try to get a minimum FUll HD resolution for video. The body doesn't feature a microphone and / or headphone jack which means you have absolutely no control over the sound. It is probably a better idea to purchase a different camera should you need good sound for your videos.
