Crucial Introduces Compact SSDs Tailor-Made for Photographers
C

Attention photographers and content creators! Crucial, a Micron brand, has just unveiled two new portable SSDs tailor-made to meet your needs. These compact devices offer lightning-fast speeds without the need for Thunderbolt technology.

Introducing the Crucial X9 and X10 Pro SSDs. Built with Micron’s TLC NAND and single-ASIC portable storage architecture, these drives are incredibly small yet offer the highest capacity per square millimeter in the industry. That’s right, you won’t find a smaller drive with more storage space anywhere else.

In fact, Crucial outperforms both Samsung and SanDisk in this aspect. To give you an idea, these drives are as compact as an Apple AirPods charging case, with the X9 weighing just 37 grams and the X10 weighing a mere 42 grams.

The drives feature an aluminum enclosure with a rubberized base, making them durable and easy to carry around.

With a lanyard hole and a soft-glow white LED indicating operation status, portability and convenience are at the forefront of their design. It’s also worth mentioning that Micron’s intelligent engineering has minimized the heat-generating points within the drive to just one, ensuring cooler operations compared to other drives.

These SSDs are also IP55 dust and water resistant, drop-proof up to 7.5 feet, and offer shock and vibration protection up to 1,500 G rm/s.

The more affordable X9 boasts read and write speeds of 1,050 MB/s, perfect for those looking for exceptional performance at a great value.

But that’s not all. The Crucial X10 Pro takes it a step further by incorporating USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 technology, delivering unprecedented read speeds of 2,100 MB/s and write speeds of 2,000 MB/s.

This makes it the fastest external SSD with no reliance on Thunderbolt technology. Do keep in mind that USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 is still relatively uncommon and only available on select computers. While Apple’s current desktop computers do not support this technology, there is one laptop model that does (according to Micron). Retrieving the maximum speeds from X10 may require compatible hardware.

Both the X9 and X10 are offered in 1, 2, and 4TB options and come with a five-year warranty, providing you with peace of mind.

Jonathan Weech, senior director of product marketing for Micron’s Commercial Products Group, emphasizes the importance of efficient workflow processes for photographers and content creators. The Crucial X9 Pro and the Crucial X10 Pro have been developed specifically to address these demanding requirements.

As the number of photos and videos being produced continues to rise, dependable and high-capacity storage solutions are becoming a necessity. With Crucial’s Pro Portable SSDs, you can trust that your digital creations will be securely and quickly preserved.

Ready to elevate your storage game? The Crucial X9 is available for purchase today, starting at $80 for 1TB and going up to $240 for 4TB. The X10 is also on the market now and is priced at $120 for 1TB, with the 4TB option priced at $340.
