Great news for photographers using Nikon Z-mount cameras! Tamron has just announced the development of the 35-150mm f/2-2.8 lens for Nikon Z-mount, following its successful debut in the Sony E-mount system last year.

What makes this lens special is its maximum wide-open aperture of f/2, a feature not commonly found in zoom lenses. Even at its longest focal length of 150mm, it maintains a fast aperture of f/2.8, making it perfect for versatile shooting situations, whether it be travel or portrait photography.

The lens incorporates Tamronā€™s innovative VXD (voice-coil eXTreme-torque Drive) linear motor focusing system, which provides incredibly fast and precise autofocus.

Not only that, Tamron has also worked on enhancing the operability and ergonomic convenience of the lens with a new design.

Since Tamron has not released detailed specifications for the Nikon Z-mount version, itā€™s likely that the lens will have similar construction to its E-mount counterpart.

The lens is expected to feature 21 elements arranged in 15 groups, including low dispersion and glass-molded aspherical elements, which ensure outstanding optical performance throughout the zoom range.

This fast and versatile lens allows photographers to capture a wide variety of subjects with its focal range. From wide-angle shots to medium telephoto and telephoto, all within a single lens, it enables seamless shooting without the hassle of changing lenses, particularly beneficial when shooting portraits that require a sense of rhythm and timing.

If we look at user experiences with the Sony version of the lens, photographers raved about the lensā€™s performance while praising its sharpness even at wider apertures.

With its excellent build quality, good autofocus performance, and pleasing bokeh, the lens is highly regarded, making it a viable investment for serious photographers, despite its slightly heavy and expensive nature.

Tamron has not disclosed the exact release date or pricing for the Z-mount version, but the company expects it to hit the market sometime this fall. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting lens that will give Nikon Z users an incredible range of creative possibilities.
