Limited to 200 Units – TTARTISAN 25mm T2.0 1.33X Anamorphic Lens

Check out the new lens from TTArtisan! It’s their first anamorphic lens and it looks pretty neat. The lens itself is compact and has a 25mm T2.0 aperture with a 1.33x desqueeze factor. You can also attach a 67mm filter on it.

It seems like TTArtisan is introducing a new line called “Anamorphot” with this lens, as seen from the additional logo on top of the lens.

Even though the lens was previously shown to a few YouTubers during its release in Japan, it has now been globally launched.

Now, let’s discuss the lens performance. It’s important to note that this lens may not be suitable for high-end shoots due to some significant focus breathing. While the overall image quality seems decent, we can’t tell much about the bokeh shape or the classic oval anamorphic look based on Damien’s review, which lacked out-of-focus shots or close-focus examples.

Fortunately, we have another sample footage video that reveals more about the bokeh. It’s worth mentioning that the bokeh from light sources in out-of-focus backgrounds was not as clean as expected.

The TTArtisan Anamorphot 25mm T2.0 1.33x Anamorphic lens is designed for Fujifilm X and Sony E mount cameras, specifically for APS-C or Super 35mm sensors. It’s uncertain if the lens will be available for other APS-C mounts like Nikon Z and Canon RF or even for MFT cameras.

This lens will have a limited edition run of 200 lenses, but it’s unclear whether that number refers to 200 for each mount or a total of 200 lenses. We’ll have to wait for more information on how the two mounts will be divided.

The lens was released in Japan for ¥45,000 (approximately $316) in July. It hasn’t been spotted at international sellers yet, but it’s expected to be available on TTArtisan’s Amazon store soon. Once it hits the USA market, we can estimate its price to be around $350.

Although this lens may not be considered high-end, it comes at an affordable price. For around $350, it could be a great option for certain creative projects. Specs are below:
