GoPro Camera Records Photographer’s Own Fatal Accident
G

A tragic incident occurred in Juneau, Alaska, where a photographer named Paul Rodriguez Jr. unintentionally captured his own drowning on his GoPro helmet camera.

The footage showed that as Rodriguez was kayaking on Mendenhall Lake, his kayak overturned due to the strong current from the glacier. Sadly, his body is still missing.

The discovery of Rodriguez’s fate began when an individual found a helmet with a GoPro attached to it on the lakeshore and turned it over to the Alaska State Troopers.

After investigation, it was confirmed that the helmet belonged to Rodriguez, and an unattended kayak similar to the one he had previously posted about on social media was also found floating on the lake.

Concerned, Rodriguez’s roommate reported him missing on the same day, and his vehicle was found parked at the lake.

Authorities conducted a thorough search for Rodriguez, scouring the lake, shoreline, and even using a helicopter for aerial assistance. However, despite their efforts, they have yet to locate his body.

The Alaska State Troopers declared Rodriguez dead based on the footage, but the search for his body is ongoing. They also noted that he was not wearing the necessary safety gear for activities in glacial water.

Multiple teams will continue searching the lake until Rodriguez’s body is found.

This comes as devastating news for his family, but they take solace in knowing that Rodriguez was a skilled photographer and a kind-hearted individual who had a genuine love for the outdoors.
