Fujifilm is honoring 100 years of Disney with a limited edition X100V camera.
This special collection, named the “Fujifilm X100V Disney and Friends Collection,” will only have 100 units and will be exclusively available in Hong Kong.
As an added touch, the camera will come in a unique wooden box along with Disney-themed accessories.
Not only does this celebration coincide with the 55th anniversary of Fuji Photographic Equipment Company, but part of the proceeds from the sale of each camera will go to the Hong Kong Community Chest to support children and youth, with an expected donation of HK$200,000, or $25,600.
While the functionality of the limited edition model remains the same as the existing X100V cameras, it stands out with its hand-crafted wooden storage box and black-and-white Disney-themed wrap.
Additionally, a set of Disney-themed accessories accompanies the camera. One accessory is a wooden commemorative card engraved with a unique certification number.
Another is a wooden box that cleverly combines craftsmanship with the concept of green environmental protection. Accompanying the camera is a black leather case that fits perfectly at the bottom and displays both the Fujifilm and “Disney 100” logos.
The matching grayscale wide camera strap, also featuring the brand logos, adds to the overall appeal. Lastly, a metal thumb rest completes the set, showcasing both logos.
Each camera is marked with a one-of-a-kind serial number ranging from one to 100, further contributing to the collectible nature and rarity of these cameras.
This collaboration with Fujifilm is Disney’s second camera partnership this year. In March, Leica unveiled a special-edition Q2 featuring a unique Disney wrap to celebrate “100 Years of Wonder.”
Although Leica is known for limited-edition camera runs, Fujifilm has gone the extra mile this time, limiting the X100V Disney and Friends Collection to 100 units only and offering more accessories compared to Leica’s production of 500 cameras.
It’s important to note that the X100V is already highly popular and in demand, with Fujifilm struggling to keep up with orders. Last year, the company had to temporarily halt new orders due to overwhelming demand.
The set is available for pre-order exclusively from three Fujifilm stores in Hong Kong, namely The Fujifilm Studio Building, the Broadway – Harbor City Branch, and the Logon – Harbor City Branch.
The price for this exclusive package is HK$14,999, which is approximately $1,920. Orders will be fulfilled starting July 29 until supplies are depleted.
